Today we had the pleasure of visiting with a local pizza franchise here in Rocklin, CA. With no surprise, we couldn’t find the business anywhere on Google. That’s right, we were sitting with the business owner, one laptop computer with a WiFi connection, and the word “pizza” in our search box and no business to be found.

We did learn that the business was investing at least five-thousand dollars a month on coupons and mailers but not spending anything in online advertising.

So what pizza franchise did rank number one on Google in the organic listing? Domino’s pizza. What if….what if…..this pizza shop owner could compete with and perhaps overtake Domino’s pizza in popularity while spending a fraction of what Domino’s Pizza is spending on advertising costs?
